Function

Its primary function is to slow and stop a trailer by converting hydraulic pressure into mechanical braking force:

• Hydraulic actuator/cylinder: Receives pressurized brake fluid from the trailer’s hydraulic brake system.
• Brake shoes: The hydraulic pressure pushes the shoes outward against the inside of the brake drum.
• Brake drum: The shoes create friction against the rotating drum, slowing or stopping the wheel.
• Duo-Servo design: Uses the rotation of the drum to help increase the force applied by the brake shoes, providing stronger braking with less hydraulic pressure.
• 12.25 × 3.38 dimensions: Indicates the approximate 12.25-inch drum diameter and 3.38-inch shoe width.
• RH (Right Hand): Intended for the right side of the axle/trailer and should not be substituted for the left-hand assembly unless specified by Dexter.
• 10K: Intended for Dexter's 10,000-lb axle application, subject to the specific axle/brake configuration.
