Main function

In practical terms, this kit keeps the tandem axles correctly positioned and allows the leaf springs to articulate. The equalizer transfers and balances suspension movement/load between the two axles, while the hangers provide the stationary attachment points on the trailer frame.

What the specifications mean

• 10GD — Designed for Dexter's 10,000-lb General Duty axle/suspension application.

• 42.25" axle spacing — The equalizer configuration is designed for approximately 42-1/4 inches of spacing between the tandem axles. The corresponding Dexter equalizer is part 13-140-3.
• 3/4" spring eye — Uses a 3/4-inch spring-eye bolt where the leaf spring attaches to the hanger/equalizer. The listed spring-eye bolt is 3/4" × 4-1/2".
• Hanger kit — Supplies the structural brackets, equalizer(s), bolts, and nuts needed to attach the suspension components to the trailer frame. The leaf springs and U-bolts are not included in the hanger kit.
